Thursday Inspirations Number 1.

Starting now, I aim to post at least two inspirational quotes or messages every Thursday!  Keep up those spirits!

#1.  “Live your life as an Exclamation rather than an Explanation”  Isaac Newton

#2.  Happiness is every human beings birthright.

Being happy and proud of our personal views is an important part of accepting who we are.  If we are unable to accept who we are then how are those around us gong to accept us as we are?  In accepting ourselves, we also accept our faults.  We do not accept them as a good thing.  Rather, we acknowledge them as faults but we realize that they are our own and we go about trying to change and correct them.  If we do not accept and acknowledge our faults then we do not have a basis to stand upon righting them.

Also, on pain.  My friend Amy said the following to me the other day.  "One thing I have learned about caring for someone is that there will always be pain involved... because anything worthwhile and beautiful, is developed through difficulty and selflessness."  I believe that this is true.  This reasoning can be applied to a dog, horse, job, or friend.  Giving ourselves fully to something so it can prosper is difficult and can not be selfish.
Pain teaches us and guides us in our future decisions.  We should not fight it, we should live with it and accept it.  However, once a reasonable amount of time has passed after a painful event we must allow ourselves to be happy in spite of it and not let it place a cloud over our lives.
This can be better explained by comparing it to physical pain.   Think of a time when you were young and made a mistake that ended in you getting hurt.  For the first few days it hurt really bad and you probably couldn't stop thinking of it for more than a minute.  Likely, it even hurt in your sleep.  As the days went by it started healing up and didn't hurt so bad.  Now, you don't feel the pain of that anymore.  However, you probably made an effort to avoid the same circumstances that made that wound for fear it would happen again.  When you look at the scar you remember that pain.  So, even though the pain stays with you, it stays as a reminder of how to do things better instead of something that must cloud over your happiness now.
